3 things every entrepreneur needs to know before using a health tracker to improve energy and focus.

How better would your business and relationships be if you woke up energised daily early in the mornings and had the body you dreamed of and the power you want to have as a leader?

The above is the personal legend every person on this earth strives for. But unfortunately, for most of us, this isn’t our reality;

97% of the entrepreneurs have trouble maintaining a clear mind, robust body and a thriving business. But, some entrepreneurs do live this life, and they all have one trait in common;

They track their performance daily to keep on top of their ambition.

It’s as easy as that, right! Is it?

We want to improve our input to achieve intense amounts of focus, energy, and productivity. There are many tracking apps and devices that help us, in 0 minutes of our time, to improve these facets. But before we do, we need to know these three things before we start tracking our progress to perform like that tiny 3 % of entrepreneurs. Before we start tracking, we want first to check;

Health tracking is useless unless we reflect.

Many entrepreneurs we first get in touch with for our coaching program see sleep, nutrition and focus as grey areas, something that happens. This is normal, but we want to be aware of the following;

Everything in life and business is based on cause and effect. Nothing is random.

This means that how you feel right now is the effect of something you did yesterday, last month or even last year. The important part is that we are unaware of most of these things because we have a business to run. That’s why we want to implement the following;

Step 1: Determine your desired outcome

With your performance, we first want to make a connection between the input and output. Here’s what I mean precisely with that; when you feel fatigued, it can be caused by many factors, for example:

– Poor sleep

– Mineral (electrolyte) imbalance

– Inflammation through food sensitivities

– Blood sugar fluctuations

Step 2: Find the cause.

That’s a lot to check for yourself; we want to create a benchmark and track what is off, so you know precisely what to focus on to achieve the desired outcome. For example: when you see your diet is clean, sleep is great, but there’s an imbalance in your minerals, you know exactly what to do to improve your energy and focus. Here’s the secret the 3% of the entrepreneurs we work with use;

Step 3: Implement a daily two minute2-minute reflection on the practice

When you’ve measured all the essential metrics based on your desired outcome, you want to stay on top of the data to keep performing at your peak daily. This is the foundation of that desired dream body, waking up energised and being shocked with your productivity. But the most crucial part is that you reflect; otherwise, your data will be useless.

The power of placebo in tracking our health.

The clients we work with implement the following tracking areas to improve their focus, energy and productivity on autopilot;

1. Sleep

2. Recovery

3. Activity

4. Focus time, meetings and breaks

5. Nutrition and biomarkers (blood marks, glucose and microbiome)

6. Well-being

This takes 0 minutes of their time.

Because of this, we gain a Birdseye view of what practices have the most significant ROI for them, so they only have to focus on their business. But there’s one pitfall we have to look out for;

The placebo effect.

Webmd.com describes this effect as follows;

“Sometimes a person can have a response to a placebo (A placebo is anything that seems to be a “real” medical treatment — but isn’t.). The response can be positive or negative. For instance, the person’s symptoms may improve. Or the person may have what appears to be side effects from the treatment. These responses are known as the ‘placebo effect.'”

So what does this mean practically with tracking our health to improve our performance? Consider the following;

We want to improve our energy throughout the day to get more work done (desired outcome). We found that sleep quality was the most important key point for this, so we decided to track our sleep and implement the protocols with the most significant ROI.

We wake up and immediately check our ‘sleep score’, an overall performance score of the quality of your sleep provided by trackers. Something we didn’t expect with all the protocols implemented;

A low score.

We felt a bit disappointed but moved on with our day. After that, however, we notice more fatigue and tiredness throughout the work day. This worsens when we remember our lousy sleep score—a downward spiral.

That’s why we implement the following with our clients:

1. Only check your data in the evenings to make sure we have no placebo effect

2. Day-to-day stats doesn’t matter; we look at the trend over time

So, now we’ve discovered what a tiny percentage of entrepreneurs are implementing daily to improve their energy and focus, determined the desired outcome, found the cause and improved this data by looking at the trend lines and the daily feedback in the evening.

All of this is only applicable when we consider the following:

The importance of accuracy

Imagine the following; you track your business finance and make an astonishing monthly revenue in the past weeks. You’re proud of yourself and decided to take your team out for dinner.

You implemented a new lead generation strategy and believed this was the cause of the effects on finance. So you decided to go all in, made new investments hired new team members, and even pivoted with your business.

Three months later, you get a message from your accountant that they made a mistake; the data they tracked was off; it had a 57% accuracy.

Accuracy is essential, especially when you think you are making objective choices but discover later that this objectivity is based on inaccurate data.

So the last point before starting to track those measures is to ensure that what you follow is as accurate as possible. Here’s how we implement this with our clients;

As a six or seven-figure business owner, you don’t have the time to find the causes for your fatigue, trouble focussing and difficulty waking up without the snooze button in the mornings.

So the first mindset shift we want is that we cause these effects, but we are unconscious of what is causing this.

Peakclub specialises in optimising busy professionals’ energy, focus and productivity so they can make the impact they want and are not held back by fatigue and brain fog. Everything we do is based on ROI; we track your data based on accuracy and importance and give you simple to implement feedback based on this data.
